This is the Babolat webshop from Badmintonplanet. Babolat is a French badminton brand with a nice range of badminton rackets, badminton shoes, badminton bags, badminton clothing and badminton shuttlecocks. Here you can find all information about these products, as well as a brief introduction to the brand.

Badminton Rackets

Babolat rackets are designed for all kind of players, from novice youth players to experienced, competitive players. Because every playing style requires a different type of racket, Babolat has developed a wide range of rackets. We have cheaper rackets made from aluminum, but also more expensive, high-end rackets. Special shorter rackets are also available for the youngest youth. To help our customers as best as possible, you can check the racket selector (see image) to find out which racket is most suitable for you. A distinction is made between club (recreational player), intensive (advanced player) and performance (competition players). A difference has also been made between offensive play, defensive play and all-round play. Finally, you can choose whether you would like a racket with a more flexible shaft(+ / ++) or with a stiffer shaft(- / -). For example, if you are a competition player with allround play and if you would prefer a slightly more flexible racket, then you might have a look for the Babolat X-Feel Essential.

Babolat has five different series, namely Prime, I-pulse, X-feel Origin, Satelite and X-feel. The Prime rackets are mainly aimed at beginners, the I-pulse rackets for recreational players, the X-feel Origin rackets for advanced players, the Satelite rackets and the X-feel rackets for competition players. Most top female players choose the Satelite rackets, because they are more manoeuvrable and faster. There are also a number of extra light rackets available, namely the Satelite Gravity rackets. These rackets offer even more racket speed, allowing you to react even faster. Most top male players choose the X-feel rackets, because these rackets offer maximum power and control.

Badminton Shoes

Babolat also has various badminton shoes. With their functional technology, Babolat tries to make shoes that suit everyone perfectly. They focus on comfort, stability and flexibility. Since the beginning, Babolat has been working with Michelin to provide the shoes with the best cushioning. All Babolat shoes have this cushioning. All shoes also have a flexible top, which makes the shoe smoother. There are three types of shoes in the range, namely the Shadow Team, the Shadow Spirit and the Shadow Tour. All these models are available for both men and women.

The Babolat Shadow Team is the cheapest model. These shoes are mainly aimed at the novice or recreational player and offer enough grip for explosive movements and quick stops on the badminton court.

The Babolat Shadow Spirit is mainly intended for the experienced players. These shoes are a bit more luxurious than the Shadow Team, because the insole is shaped making the shoes more comfortable.

The Babolat Shadow Tour is Babolat's best model. These shoes have extra cushioning at the heel and offer even more support and stability. These shoes are perfect for competition players.

Badminton Bags

Are you looking for the perfect bag to store your badminton equipment? The Babolat range contains a lot of different types of bags. There are small backpacks for children, but also larger backpacks for adult players. Babolat is very innovative with the bags in terms of design. There are duffle bags. These special bags are categorized as 1-compartment bags, but you can furnish this compartment yourself with spacers and Velcro. The Backracq (see image) and Sling Bag are two other special bags, both of which can be worn on the back. Finally, Babolat also offers various racket holders, these are bags with the 'normal, original shape'. These racket holders are available in various sizes, namely for 3 rackets, 6 rackets, 9 rackets and 12 rackets. So you have a lot of choice.

Babolat has both feather shuttles and nylon shuttles in its range. The nylon shuttles are mainly focused on durability, while the feather shuttles have a better flight and offer more playing comfort. The history of Babolat

The firm Babolat & Monnier, located in Lyon, started selling badminton strings in 1875. One year later, they sold their first tennis strings. This makes them the first company to specialize in racket sports.

People wanted thinner strings and more tension. This caused Babolat to create the VS-Strings in 1925, which are thinner and stronger. More than 100 grand slams are won by people using this string.

Thanks to the popularity of Tennis in the 1950’s, Babolat created an international distribution network for their products. This way, Babolat quickly became known all over the world. In order to satisfy the player, Babolat continues to innovate so they can offer the player better and accessible products. For example the Elascord, which is the company’s first synthetic string. This string offered great quality for an affordable price.

In the 1960’s they expanded their range of products, by creating their first line of tennis rackets and in 1995, they launched their first badminton racket. In 2003 Babolat started a partnership with the brand Michelin. They used their expertise in rubber and contact with the ground to create their first line of shoes. Babolat also releases clothing. At this point, they offer complete equipment for Badminton, Tennis and Padel players.

Babolat strives to be the best at what they do. They do this by listening to players, making improvements and focusing on the best quality. It is important to push the boundaries. This curiosity helps them improve their products and stay on top.

Babolat often teams up with different companies to create great products. For example, they had a partnership with Michelin in order to create their shoes, or they teamed up with the aerospace industry to improve the aerodynamics of their racket frames.
